Police Update 3: Attempted Robbery Charges, Camp Hill

Detectives have charged a 23-year-old man with a further nine offences following his arrest this morning in relation to alleged property offences at Camp Hill and Kangaroo Point on March 15.

It will be alleged the 23-year-old man, armed with a machete, assaulted a 48-year-old man in Camp Hill after the man refused to hand over his car keys.

The 23-year-old man was arrested by police on Plume Street in Redcliffe around 1.23am this morning.

Earlier he was charged with multiple offences including enter dwelling and commit, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle speeding and evasion offence at night.

He has now been charged with an additional nine offences including one count each of wounding and armed robbery, three counts of enter premises with intent, two counts each of enter dwelling and commit and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

The man appeared in the Redcliffe Magistrates Court today and has been remanded in custody to reappear on April 7.

Upper Mount Gravatt Criminal Investigation Branch Officer in Charge, Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Lonie Horn says everyone deserves to feel safe and police are committed to seeking justice for victims of crime.

"Detectives were relentless in their efforts to quickly locate and arrest the alleged offenders to find justice for the victims and ensure the community was safe."
