Police Update 3: Property Crime Arrests At Logan

A major police operation targeting a series of burglaries, shop break-ins, and armed robberies across Logan and South Brisbane has resulted in the arrest of multiple offenders, significantly disrupting criminal activity in the Logan and South Brisbane areas.

Operation Xray Fiero, led by detectives from Logan and South Brisbane, focused on a core group of offenders responsible for a large number of property offences that gained widespread attention at the time.

The offences primarily occurred in Logan's eastern patrol group area, including Underwood, Rochedale South, and Springwood.

Detective Acting Inspector Daniel Cunningham said the outcome of the operation reflected the ongoing commitment of Logan police to targeting serious offenders and preventing further crime.

"Community safety remains a priority for the Queensland Police Service, and we will continue to maintain a strong presence in the community to prevent offending and disrupt individuals engaged in unlawful behaviour.

"Our investigators have worked tirelessly to identify and apprehend those responsible, and we are pleased to see these arrests making a significant impact on crime in the region."

As a result of the investigation, police have charged 14 people - nine adults and five juveniles - with a total of 227 offences, including armed robbery, burglary, and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

A 20-year-old Woodridge man has been charged with 16 counts of armed robbery, four counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, two counts of burglary, and one count of possessing dangerous drugs.

A 21-year-old Boronia Heights man has been charged with nine counts of armed robbery, five counts of burglary, three counts each of deprivation of liberty and unlawful use of a motor vehicle, and one count of attempted burglary and stealing.

They are both due to appear at Beenleigh Magistrates Court on April 28.

A 21-year-old man from Marsden has been charged with eight counts of armed robbery, 11 counts of burglary, eight counts of armed robbery, three counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count each of attempted armed robbery and common assault. He is due to appear at Brisbane Childrens Court on April 14.

In addition to investigative efforts, Logan police proactively patrolled high-risk areas, leading to further arrests and preventing additional offences. This included the arrest of an offender caught attempting to flee the scene of a break-in, captured on police body-worn camera footage.

Detective Acting Inspector Cunningham said investigations into the crime series remain ongoing, and police are encouraging anyone with further information to come forward.

"We urge anyone who may have information that could assist police to contact Policelink or Crime Stoppers," he said.
