Police Update: Armed Robberies in Tarragindi, Rochedale

Detectives have charged two people following investigations into a series of alleged armed robberies in Brisbane's south.

Initial investigations indicate around 12.20am on Saturday, December 28, a 23-year-old man was travelling on a motorised scooter on Marshall Road through Tarragindi when he stopped along Kuring Gai Avenue.

A silver Volkswagen golf is alleged to have pulled up behind him before two male occupants exited the vehicle and approached the man, threatening him with a machete and stealing his scooter.

Shortly after around 1.40am, a 29-year-old Rochedale man was travelling on a motorbike along Gardiner Road through Rochedale when the same vehicle pulled up next to him.

Two male occupants of the vehicle are alleged to have then struck at him with a machete.

The victim continued on towards a fast-food restaurant on Miles Platting Road and the two offenders are alleged to have followed him.

They then allegedly threatened the man and demanded his keys before stealing his motorbike.

It will be further alleged the same two males were also involved in an attempted armed robbery at a South Brisbane address and an armed robbery in Woolloongabba, both on Friday, December 27.

On Saturday afternoon, detectives from Dutton Park Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) located a 17-year-old boy and 18-year-old man at a Springfield residence.

The 17-year-old boy was charged with three counts of robbery while armed and in company and unlawful use of a motor vehicle, as well as one count of attempted armed robbery.

He is due to appear Brisbane Childrens Court tomorrow, December 30.

The 18-year-old man was charged with three counts of robbery while armed and in company and unlawful use of a motor vehicle, as well as one count of attempted armed robbery.

He is due to appear Brisbane Magistrates Court tomorrow, December 30.
