Police update: Armed robbery, Robina

Gold Coast detectives have charged two men in relation to the armed robbery of a store in Robina on July 13.

It is alleged around 9.20am a man entered the store on Robina Town Centre Drive and approached a 35-year-old male employee with an unknown weapon wrapped in a piece of clothing.

It is alleged during the robbery a quantity of jewellery was stolen before the man was seen getting into an older model white hatchback that was allegedly being driven by another man.

No physical injuries were sustained in the incident.

A 41-year-old Mudgeeraba man was charged on Friday (July 17) with one count of armed robbery. He appeared in Southport Magistrates Court on July 18 and was remanded in custody to reappear today July 20.

A 44-year-old man also from Mudgeeraba was charged on July 15 with one count each of armed robbery/in company, possess dangerous drug (amphetamine) and fail to dispose of syringe. He is due to reappear at Southport Magistrates Court on August 13.
