Detectives from Ayr Criminal Investigation Branch have released CCTV in an appeal for information in relation to an armed robbery with violence at Inkerman on February 23.
At approximately 2.20pm on the Bruce Highway, an 85-year-old man was assaulted with a metal bar and his Mazda BT-50 stolen.
He was transported to Ayr Hospital in a stable condition.
Police have released CCTV from a petrol station on the Bruce Highway at Bowen, the vehicle was observed to pull in just after 2.50pm, before leaving.
A short time later, police attempted to intercept the stolen vehicle on the Bruce Highway near Bowen, however it failed to stop and continued driving dangerously.
Detectives would like to speak to the man and woman depicted in the footage, and urge anyone with information to immediately contact police.
Investigations are ongoing.
