Northern Territory Police have arrested a 26-year-old man in relation to a fatal crash that occurred on Saturday.
The 26-year-old driver allegedly fled from the scene on foot and was later arrested and remanded in custody.
He has been charged with multiple driving offences, including Hit and run cause death, due to his alleged fleeing the scene immediately post-crash.
Detectives from the Major Crash Investigation Unit believe there were 5 people within the vehicle at the time of the crash, the 26-year-old driver and 4 passengers aged 28,23,20 and 10.
Investigations indicate that three of the fatal five factors were believed to be involved in the crash; alcohol, not wearing seatbelts and fatigue.
The alleged driver is set to appear in Darwin Local Court today.
