Police Update: Attempted Robbery Charges, Camp Hill

Police have charged a 21-year-old man in relation to alleged property offences at Camp Hill and Kangaroo Point overnight, March 15.

At approximately 3am, a Kia Sorrento was stolen from a Kangaroo Point address.

At 6am, a 48-year-old man on Audrey Street at Camp Hill was approached by two males armed with a machete, who demanded the man's car keys.

The man refused and he was assaulted, sustaining lacerations to his arm and chest.

The pair then left in the stolen Kia Sorrento.

A short time later, two BMWs were stolen from a Henderson Street address.

The stolen Kia Sorrento was located abandoned nearby.

Investigations led police to attend a Redcliffe address at approximately 11am, where a 21-year-old man was taken into custody.

One of the stolen BMWs was located at this address.

The 21-year-old Petrie man has been charged with 10 offences including two counts each of enter dwelling and commit, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and attempted enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence and one count each of wounding, unlawful use of a motor vehicle (use in indictable offence) and attempted armed robbery in company.

He has been denied bail and is expected to appear at Redcliffe Magistrates Court on Monday, March 17.

Investigations remain ongoing, police appeal to anyone with information or relevant footage which may assist investigations to come forward.
