The body of a 64-year-old man has today been recovered by the Search and Rescue Section at South Alligator River.
The Northern Territory Police Search and Rescue Section was deployed to the located yesterday evening after receiving information of an unoccupied tinny near the boat ramp.
A multi-agency response saw a thorough search of the river throughout the night and continued the search this morning with a helicopter and vessels, with multiple crocodiles observed in the area.
With the help of Kakadu National Park Rangers, the body was located and recovered at midday today.
Superintendent Jakson Evans said, "This is a tragic outcome, and our thoughts are with the family during this difficult time."
The boat ramp has now been opened for the public.
The cause of death is to be determined and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
