Police Update: Concern For Welfare At Tennant Creek

Northern Territory Police are continuing search efforts to locate 52-year-old Maxie Graham.

Around 6:30am on Monday 16 September 2024, Maxie left his address and drove a silver Ford Territory to a residence in Tennant Creek where he walked into a friend's house and remained for approximately 30 minutes, leaving at around 8am.

There is an unconfirmed sighting of Maxie at 6pm the same day when a male matching his description was seen hitchhiking 13km along Peko Road, walking towards Paterson Street, Tennant Creek.

Maxie was reported missing late Tuesday and an investigation was commenced.

Maxie is described as of aboriginal appearance, 170cm tall, Slim build with scruffy black hair and a long grey beard. He was last wearing black trousers with a blue shirt.

The Silver Ford Territory has since been located abandoned 15km South/East of Tennant Creek.

The Search and Rescue Section has deployed to the area with the assistance of local police. Drone assets, ATV's, Dirt bikes and a helicopter are currently being used to search the area.

Maxie's family and the police hold concerns for his welfare and urge anyone with information of his whereabouts to contact police on 131 444 and quote reference NTP2400093379.
