Forensic Crash Unit officers investigating a fatal car and motorbike crash near Mackay yesterday are appealing for a specific witness to come forward.
An elderly man driving a green Ford utility east on Sugarshed Road is believed to have been one of the first motorists to come across the scene and may have information that could assist.
Investigators are asking the man, or anyone else with information, to come forward.
The 11-year-old girl who was a pillion passenger on the motorcycle was airlifted to Townsville Hospital and remains in a critical condition.

A man has died and a young girl is suffering life-threatening injuries as a result of a crash at Erakala earlier today.
Around 1.45pm, a motorcycle was riding along Sugarshed Road west of Ridolfis Road when it collided with a white ute travelling in the opposite direction.
Emergency services responded and rendered first aid to the rider, a man aged 59. He later died in hospital.
An 11-year-old female pillion passenger was transported to hospital with serious life-threatening injuries.
The 30-year-old man driving the white ute was not physically injured.
Investigations into the circumstances of the crash continue.
Crash investigators are appealing to anyone travelling in the area who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
