A child has died following a fatal crash at Netherby this morning.
Just after 8am this morning (Friday 13 September), police and emergency services were called to Rentoul Avenue after reports a young child was struck by a vehicle.
The child, an 18-month old girl, was treated by Paramedics at the scene but sadly died in hospital.
The driver of the vehicle is assisting police and has been taken to hospital for mandatory testing.
Major Crash Investigators attended the scene to determine the cause of the crash.
Rantoul Road was closed between Pulleine Avenue and Netherby Avenue for a number of hours but has since reopened.
The girl's death is the 59th live lost on South Australian roads this year compared to 78 at the same time last year.
