Police Update: Fatal Fire, Thorneside

Police have located the body of a second person at the scene of a townhouse fire at Thorneside.

Emergency services were called to the Bayside Court property at approximately 7.15am yesterday, October 6.

The fire was well involved, destroying the home.

Two people who were home at the time were unaccounted for.

Once the fire was extinguished yesterday, October 6, by Queensland Fire and Emergency Services, an initial examination of the scene located the body of an eight-year-old girl.

Following further examination this afternoon, October 7, the body of another person, believed to be a missing 31-year-old woman, was located.

A port-mortem and scientific examination will take place to confirm the identities of the deceased.

Investigations are continuing to determine the cause of the fire.

Police appeal to anyone with information or relevant vision to come forward.
