Police Update: Homicide Investigation At Ipswich

Police have charged a 36-year-old man with murder following the death of a woman at Leichhardt this morning, July 15.

Around 9.15am, police were called to a Flinders Drive address to conduct a welfare check.

Upon arrival, police located a 28-year-old woman deceased and a crime scene was declared.

Officers, with the help of Polair, tracked a man in a vehicle and tyre deflation device was deployed, before the Toyota sedan came to a stop at Ipswich Boonah Road at Peak Crossing, where one man was taken into custody around 10.15am.

A 36-year-old Leichhardt man has been charged with murder (domestic violence offence) and dangerous operation of a vehicle.

He is expected to appear before Ipswich Magistrates Court on July 16.
