Detectives investigating the suspected homicide of a woman at Koumala have received the results of a post-mortem examination.
Forensic tests have identified the deceased as 31-year-old Rene Latimore who was reported missing from the Koumala area on August 18.
About 2.30pm on August 29, the body of a woman was located during a search operation for missing woman Rene Latimore.
A crime scene was established and detectives from the Mackay Criminal Investigation Branch and Homicide Investigation Unit are investigating.
Investigations are ongoing and police continue to appeal to anyone who had interactions with Rene, either by phone, email or in person, to come forward.
Additionally, for people who live in the Koumala and Ilbilbie areas, police are appealing for any information regarding the movement of vehicles or people in the area around the dates of August 8 to August 11.
Anyone with relevant information, CCTV or dash cam vision is urged to speak to police.
