Police Update: House Fire, Crestmead

Police have charged a man following a suspicious house fire at Crestmead yesterday, October 24.

Around 1.30am, emergency crews were called to a Price Court home after reports of a large fire.

When police arrived, the building was completely engulfed causing substantial damage.

The occupants were able to safely flee the residence, and no one was physically injured.

The 24-year-old Mermaid Beach man has been charged with contravention of domestic violence order, arson - structure or building domestic violence offence, wilful damage and common assault domestic violence offence.

He is due to appear at Southport Magistrates Court today, October 25.
