Police and members of the community searching remote outback Queensland for a 34-year-old Northern Territory man, missing since late October in the Urandangi area, today located human remains during a land and air search (November 4).

Queensland police, with the assistance of Northern Territory Police and community members, conducted extensive searches of the area north west of Mount Isa after the man was reported missing on October 28.

About 8.30am this morning, the body of a man was located in a remote location north-west of Urandangi by members of the Alpurrurulam community.

Formal identification is yet to be completed and forensic examinations are ongoing.

Once this process is complete, a report will be prepared for the Coroner.

Police are providing support and assistance to the family of the 34-year-old man and our thoughts are with them at this time.
