Police have charged a man following an incident at Burleigh Heads on March 1.
Around 7:30pm, police were called to a Gardenia Grove residence following reports of an armed man allegedly making threats.
Upon arrival, it is alleged the armed man made threats towards officers and was subsequently shot by police.
Medical assistance was immediately rendered to the man, and he was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A crime scene was declared while police investigations were conducted at the scene.
A 33-year-old Burleigh Heads man has been charged with two counts of serious assault police and one count each of going armed so as to cause fear, assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, possess dangerous drug and possess utensil.
He is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court today, March 3.
This matter is under investigation by Ethical Standards Command, with the investigation subject to oversight by the Crime and Corruption Commission.
