Police Update: Property Crime At Logan

Logan police have charged two men as part of the ongoing operation targeting recidivist property offending in the district and across south-east Queensland.

On February 14, a 33-year-old Waterford West man was arrested in Waterford West and charged with two counts of receiving tainted property, and one count each of enter vehicle with intent to commit an indictable offence, armed robbery in company, using violence, unlawful possession of weapons (firearm) and contravening a direction.

He was denied police bail and is due to appear at Beenleigh Magistrates Court on March 19.

On February 16, a 29-year-old Rochedale South man was arrested in Loganholme and charged with two counts of possess dangerous drugs and one count of possession of tainted property.

He was denied police bail, and he is due to appear at Beenleigh Magistrates Court on March 24.

Police have established an Investigation Centre to support the ongoing operation to target a core group of recidivist property offenders, which is staffed by officers and detectives from both Logan and South Brisbane districts along with the Crime and Intelligence Command.

Investigations have identified the group is linked to offences committed between late December 2024 and early February 2025, with intelligence analysists supporting the monitoring of reported offences to investigation and further potential links to the group.

Acting Chief Superintendent Mark Thompson said police remain committed to preventing, disrupting, and investigating criminal activity in the district.

"Community safety is our first priority. Our officers are working tirelessly to identify, locate, and prosecute those responsible for these offences," Acting Chief Superintendent Thompson said.

"Police will continue to pursue further offenders, with additional charges expected.

"High-visibility patrols remain in place, and our investigative teams are actively targeting those involved in serious property crime."

Police continue to urge residents to report all suspicious activity directly to authorities to assist in ongoing investigations.
