Police are renewing a public appeal to help locate missing Sunnybank man Joshua Mou, who has not been heard from since mid-January, despite police coordinating searches in the Carindale area earlier this month.
Officer-in-Charge of Acacia Ridge Criminal Investigation Branch Detective Senior Sergeant Mick Manago said investigations into 22-year-old Joshua's disappearance had been extensive.
"While Joshua went missing from Sunnybank, we believe he may have travelled by bus to Baynes Street, Carindale on January 11 and consequently we've narrowed our focus to that area".
"Last weekend, specialist police searched wetlands and waterways in nearby Bulimba Creek with specialised drones also scouring nearby Minnippi Park and Carindale Recreational Reserve.
Senior Sergeant Manago called on the Chinese and Taiwanese community, of which Joshua was an active member, to get in touch with police with any information regarding his whereabouts.
"No piece of information is too small, we have mandarin-speaking Police Liaison Officers available to assist who have recently distributed information via the We-Chat platform to aid investigators.
"Should he see this appeal – I'd like to appeal directly to Joshua to make contact with police or his family to confirm he is safe. I want to reiterate he is not in trouble and making contact with his loved ones, or to police directly, would be in everyone's best interests.
