Police Update: Robbery At Gladstone

Gladstone Detectives have charged a 28-year-old man following investigations into the alleged violent robbery of a man in Gladstone yesterday morning, June 13.

It will be alleged at approximately 5.30am, the man approached a 58-year-old Gladstone Central man who was waiting for a taxi on Roseberry Street before assaulting him and stealing his backpack and wallet.

The 58-year-old man sustained non-life-threatening injuries as a result and was transported to Gladstone Hospital where he was discharged last night.

As a result of investigations, police executed a search warrant in Gladstone Central last night where they located and arrested a 28-year-old Gladstone Central man.

He has been charged with one count of robbery with violence, two counts of possessing dangerous drugs and one count of possess property suspected of having been used in connection.

He has been denied police bail and is expected to appear in Gladstone Magistrates Court today, Friday June 14.
