The body of a woman has been located during a search operation at Babinda this morning (December 20).
About 2.45pm yesterday, police were advised that a woman had fallen into the water at Babinda Boulders and failed to resurface.
Police, including the dive squad, and Queensland Fire and Emergency Services swift water crews and State Emergency Service personnel commenced a search and rescue operation of the area.
About 8am this morning, the body of the 19-year-old Edmonton woman was located in the water.
Police are liaising with the woman's family and our thoughts are with them at this time.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
