Police Update: Serious Crash At Gawler Belt

Thiele Highway has re-opened following a serious crash at Gawler Belt yesterday afternoon.

Just after 4.10pm, Saturday 31 August, police and emergency services were called to Thiele Highway at Gawler Belt after reports of a collision involving multiple vehicles.

A white Nissan Pathfinder stopped on the side of the highway after a toolbox fell from the tray.

Two cars travelling behind stopped to assist. The four occupants were out of the car standing near the road when a fourth vehicle, a Holden Trailblazer, collided into the rear of the cars in turn colliding into the pedestrians.

A 45-year-old man and a 46-year-old man both from Willaston and a 42-year-old woman from Freeling were taken to hospital where they are being treated for serious but non-life threatening injuries.

A 35-year-old woman from Freeling, was taken to hospital where she is in a critical condition.

The driver of the Holden, a 29-year-old woman from Kapunda, was taken to hospital where she was treated for non-life threatening injuries and a sample of her blood was taken.

Major Crash Investigators attended the scene to assist with the investigation.
