Police Update: Shooting Incident At Rockhampton

Police have released an image of a man they believe can assist with investigations into a shooting incident on December 3 at Kawana in Rockhampton.

Police urge community members to not approach this man, as it is believed that he could be armed.

Initial investigations indicate a 31-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound to his leg following a verbal argument with another man know to him who fled the scene.

The 31-year-old man was transported to Rockhampton Hospital in a stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

The man pictured is described as having an Aboriginal appearance, around 185cm tall, proportionate build, short light brown curly hair, a short ginger beard and moustache and tattoos on his lower left arm, both hands and lower left leg.

Members of the public are asked to NOT approach the man and to immediately contact Triple Zero (000) if sighted.

Anyone with information regarding the man's current whereabouts is urged to contact police.

Investigations are continuing.
