Detectives from Hendra Criminal Investigation Brach have charged a man with nine offences including acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm following investigations into an alleged shooting at a Wavell Heights address earlier this month.
Police were called to a Highlands Street home around 7.45am on January 14 where they located a 38-year-old local man with a serious gun shot wound to his leg. He was transported to hospital in a critical condition.
A 48-year-old Wavell Heights man, located at the house had also allegedly been assaulted during the incident.
A 26-year-old Woombye man was arrested on January 19. He appeared in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court where he was remanded in custody to re-appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on March 7 charged with two counts of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm and one count each of unlawful possession of a category B weapon, dangerous conduct with a weapon, armed robbery using personal violence and in company, assault occasioning bodily harm whilst armed and in company, enter with intent whilst armed, using personal violence and in company, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and possession of dangerous drugs.
Police investigations are continuing.
