Police Update: Suspicious Fire, Bundall 19 July

Police have charged a 41-year-old Victorian man following investigations into an alleged arson of a luxury vehicle in Bundall today, July 19.

Initial investigations indicate around 6.40am emergency services were called to a rental car business at the intersection of Ashmore and Bundall Roads after reports of a fire.

Police will allege the 41-year-old Donvale man wilfully and unlawfully set fire to a Mercedes-AMG G 63.

The fire was extinguished with the luxury Mercedes and the premises allegedly being extensively damaged.

No one was injured in the incident.

The 41-year-old was charged with arson of a motor vehicle.

His bail was refused and he is due to appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court tomorrow, July 20.

A crime scene has been declared and investigations are continuing.
