Police have arrested seven teenagers after intercepting two stolen vehicles in the Townsville area this morning.
Around 9.30am, police successfully deployed a tyre deflation device to intercept an alleged stole Kia Rio at Riverside Drive.
The Kia was stolen from Annandale Drive, Annandale last night around 10.45pm during a burglary.
Four males, aged 13, 15 and 16, were arrested at the scene and taken into custody.
At noon today, police intercepted an alleged stolen Hyundai i20 and arrested a boy and two teenage girls at Derby Street, Pimlico.
A 13-year-old Idalia boy has been charged with two counts of unlawful use and one count of unlicensed driving.
A 15-year-old Rosslea girl has been charged with two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
A 16-year-old Palm Island boy has been charged with two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count of suppling a dangerous drug (cannabis).
A 16-year-old Happy Valley girl has been charged with one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and unlicensed driving.
A 15-year-old Hyde Park girl, 15-year-old Douglas boy and a 13-year-old Townsville boy have all been charged with one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
All will appear Townsville Children's Court tomorrow, March 2.
The Hyundai was stolen during a burglary at Jindalee Crescent, Douglas between 2.30am and 6am yesterday morning, February 28. A grey Holden Cruze which was also stolen during the burglary, remains outstanding.
