Police update: Woman charged after McLaren Vale fatal crash, South Australia

A woman has been arrested following a fatal crash at McLaren Vale in February.

Just after 10pm on Saturday 24 February, police and emergency services were called to the intersection of Binney Road and Main Road, where a Mazda station wagon and a Mitsubishi utility had crashed.

A passenger in the Mazda station wagon, a 19-year-old woman from Banksia Park, sadly died at the scene. Seven other people were injured and taken to hospital.

Today, as part of an ongoing investigation, the driver of the Mazda station wagon, a 21-year-old woman from North Haven, was arrested by Major Crash Investigators and charged with causing death by dangerous driving and five counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

She has been bailed to appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court on 31 May.
