Police update: Woman dies after crash at McLaren Vale, South Australia

A Willunga woman has sadly died in hospital following a serious crash at McLaren Vale last Sunday.

About 5.40pm Sunday 28 March emergency services were called to a three car crash at the intersection of Main Road and McMurtrie Road after black Subaru collided with a Nissan Pulsar and a grey Subaru.

Six people were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A passenger in the Pulsar, a 61-year-old Willunga woman, was airlifted to the Flinders Medical Centre at the time, but sadly she died last night (Saturday 3 April) from her injuries.

On Monday March 29, Major Crash Investigators arrested a 56-year-old Whyalla man, who was allegedly driving the Subaru and charged him with causing harm by dangerous driving that charge will now be amended to cause death by dangerous driving.

He has been bailed to appear at the Adelaide Magistrates Court on 10 June.

The woman's death bring the number of lives lost this year to 34 compared to 31 at the same time in 2020.
