Police Update: Wounding At Maroochydore

The second offender in relation to the alleged assault in Maroochydore yesterday, August 19, has been located and charged.

A 16-year-old Kuluin boy was arrested at an Anzac Avenue address in Maroochydore this afternoon, August 20.

It will be alleged a 45-year-old Maroochydore man was kicked in the head and stabbed once in his thigh after an altercation with two boys at the Maroochydore bus station on Horton Parade around 2.45pm on Monday.

The man was transported to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The boys allegedly ran from the scene but one of them was located at a property on Bungama Street, Maroochydore on Monday night.

The second boy has been charged with one count each of common assault and wounding.

He has been refused police bail and is due to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court tomorrow, August 21.

Initial investigations indicate the boys and the man are not known to each other.
