A man who was critically injured following an alleged stabbing incident at Waterford West has since passed away in hospital.
Police were called to a unit block on Bourke St around 8.15pm last night following reports a man had sustained a stab wound.
A 32-year-old Beachmere man was located inside one of the units with a serious injury to his abdomen.
He was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition where he has since died.
Police located a 45-year-old man inside one of the other units and he was taken into custody.
It will be alleged there was a verbal altercation between the two men outside the complex before the 32-year-old was stabbed with a knife.
The 45-year-old man was charged with acts intended to maim and is due to face Beenleigh Magistrates Court today.
Police will now consider further charges in relation to this incident.
Investigations are continuing.
