Car parking capacity at Port Macquarie Base Hospital has been boosted for patients, visitors, and staff with more than 180 additional car parking spaces now available on the hospital campus.
New and free car parking facilities are being delivered as part of the Minns Labor Government's $33.97 million Helipad and Car Park Project at Port Macquarie Base Hospital, to enhance accessibility to local health services.
The new free street level car park is located on the former helipad site, which was relocated to a newly completed rooftop helipad last year, further supporting recent enhancements at the hospital campus.
Work on the next stage of the car park project will include the upgrade of the Rotary Lodge car park outside the Mid North Coast Cancer Institute.
Traffic management plans and signage will continue to be in place throughout construction and the community is thanked for their patience while work is carried out. The project is expected to be completed in early 2025.
The $33.97 million Port Macquarie Base Hospital Helipad and Car Park Project is being delivered by the Mid North Coast Local Health District and Health Infrastructure, with Eire Constructions the principal contractor.
In addition to the project, the NSW Government is investing $265 million in the upgrade of Port Macquarie Hospital to provide enhanced health care services for the communities of the Mid North Coast.
