Port Stephens Gears Up For Day Of Aussie Fun

Port Stephen

The Port Stephens community is invited to celebrate Australia Day 2025 with a range of free events planned across 5 locations.

Mayor Leah Anderson says Australia Day will be full of community spirit for everyone to enjoy.

"This Australia Day, we'll be coming together as a community to celebrate at 5 locations across Port Stephens," Mayor Anderson said.

"The Raymond Terrace Bowling Club is sponsoring the annual Big Aussie Breakfast and there'll be lots of other events featuring RAAF fly overs, market stalls, live music, kids entertainment, and dragon boat races.

"If you're wanting to stay cool, you can head to Lakeside Leisure Centre's free pool party, and if you're in the Karuah area in the evening you can enjoy the 9pm fireworks display," she added.

In addition to the activities taking place across the region, Australia Day is also an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the valuable contributions of our community members with the Annual Awards and welcome new citizens with Citizenship ceremonies.

"We'll be honouring our Annual Award winners at an awards ceremony in Raymond Terrace. These individuals exemplify the values of respect, inclusion, and helping others, making a positive impact on our community," Mayor Anderson said.

"We also look forward to welcoming our newest Australian Citizens as they take the pledge in front of their family and friends.

"So come on down, join the fun, and celebrate Australia Day with the Port Stephens community!" concluded Mayor Anderson.
