Port Wakefield Road diversions due to flooding at Port Wakfefield-, SA

Motorists are advised due to local flooding all Port Wakefield Road traffic has been diverted around the Port Wakefield township and also between Virginia and Two Wells, according to SA Police.

All north bound traffic on the Port Wakefield Road is being diverted to the Northern Expressway.

Motorists heading to north towards Port Augusta - are advised to travel along Main North Road to Clare, follow signs to Spalding to Crystal Brook, then back on to National Highway One from Crystal Brook.

Motorists heading to Yorke Peninsula from Adelaide - travel along Main North Road to Clare - drive north of Clare towards Gladstone. Turn left to towards Brinkworth/Snowtown continue west from Snowtown to Bute, then south from Bute towards Yorke Peninsula.

Motorists travelling to Adelaide - see above directions in reverse order.

These diversions are expected to be in place for some time and motorists are asked to please be patient if driving in the area.

These diversions are able to handle heavy trucks up to B-double configuration only.

B-triple and road train configuration trucks travelling between Adelaide and Port Wakefield will not be able to utilise this diversion. Configurations must be broken down to B Double and singles only.

Local residents in the Virginia area are also advised Port Wakefield Road traffic is also being diverted between Virginia and Two Wells.
