Local artists are invited to apply to create an original street art mural on the Portarlington Senior Citizens Club building in Portarlington Park.
The Portarlington Senior Citizens Club and the Portarlington Community Association, in partnership with the City, are seeking to commission an artist to make the work for Newcombe Street by the end of July.
The Portarlington Senior Citizens Club has beautiful views across Port Phillip Bay, to the You Yangs, and the Melbourne skyline. The ferry to Melbourne docks within view of the park, and the main retail strip, cafes and dining is right across the road, providing an excellent opportunity for a high-quality artwork to be showcased.
The budget for this commission is $8,000.
Expressions of interest are due by 5:00pm on Monday 3 April 2023.
The commission is supported by the City's strong ongoing commitment to commissioning public artworks and for the region to be a cultural centre of innovation and excellence, as part of our Public Art Strategy.
