The NSW Electoral Commission has announced a preliminary result of the 2021 Kempsey Local Government Mayoral election.
The preliminary result declares Leo Hauville as Mayor of Kempsey Shire Council for the next term which will run until September 2024.
The NSW Electoral Commission allows this result to be appealed by mid-morning on Tuesday 21 December 2021.
The election was conducted by NSW Electoral Commission and held on Saturday 4 December. 22,744 residential and non-residential electors were enrolled in the shire on 25 October 2021.
Once the NSW Electoral Commission representative has distributed preferences according to the Optional Preferential counting system as defined in Schedule 4 of the Local Government (General) Regulation 2021, the final outcome will be declared.
The result of the vote for the 8 Councillor positions for the coming term will be announced by the NSW Electoral Commission at 12.30 on Thursday 23 December 2021.
