Price Of Football Live Show Hits University

An award-winning football finance podcast led by our Management School is coming to the University of Liverpool for an exclusive live show next week.

The Price of Football, hosted by Kevin Day, comedian and writer for shows such as Have I Got News For You, and Management School lecturer Kieran Maguire, is bringing its live tour to our Yoko Ono Lennon Centre on Tuesday 4 March.

Kieran and Kevin will be joined by special guests Alan Myers, Regional News Editor at Sky Sports News and former Director of Communications at Everton, and Tom Beahon the co-founder of premium sportswear brand Castore.

Launched in 2019, the Price of Football podcast has been downloaded more than 18 million times, and regularly features guests from the football industry, as well as discussing topical stories from the beautiful game and answering listener questions.

The podcast was included in The Guardian Top 20 Indie Podcasts, The Radio Times Top Sports Podcasts of 2023 and many other publications and media outlets.

Sports expertise is a thread which runs through the University's Management School. The School's Centre for Sports Business provides a leading research hub which supports best practice in all aspects of sports business via state-of-the-art insights, consultancy and excellent executive education solutions.

Members of the Centre have strong relationships with many sporting organisations including the Premier League, UEFA and The League Managers Association.

The live show on 4 March is free to all students and staff at the University and will feature a discussion of current football finance stories as well as questions from the audience.
