Pride Month 2024: Bayside

Bayside Council is hosting several events during Pride Month as part of a program developed in response to the popular LGBTQI+ Forum held in 2023.

There will be two free screenings of Pride. This film, starring Bill Nighy and Imelda Staunton, is based on an inspirational true story about a group of U.K. gay activists who work to help miners during the lengthy National Union of Mineworkers strike in 1984.

A Pride in Sports Clubs Workshop in partnership with ACON's Pride in Sport Program will be held at the Rockdale Town Hall for representatives of local sports clubs and groups. The workshop will look at building safe, inclusive sporting communities in Bayside.

An 'in conversation' event will also be held with acclaimed Australian author Peter Polites who will be talking about his experience as a queer, second-generation, Greek-Australian author living in Western Sydney.

These events are free, but registration is essential.
