Get ready for the most vibrant, exciting, and inclusive celebration yet-PrideFEST 2024 is bringing a burst of colour, energy, and joy to the City of Perth across 10 spectacular days.
Proudly presented by Pride WA, this year's PrideFEST celebrates the theme "Together, Go West", with more than 100 events that will light up the city, showcasing Perth as a hub of LGBTQIA+ culture, creativity, and community.
Northbridge will once again be the beating heart of the festival, with key venues including Pride Piazza (Northbridge Piazza), Russell Square, and various iconic city spaces hosting an exciting array of performances, workshops, parties, and cultural events. The highlight of the festivities will be the iconic Pride Parade on Saturday, 23 November, where thousands will gather to march through the streets of Northbridge.
City of Perth Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas said the City's support of Pride WA spanned more 26 years and was proud to host the PrideFest program in the City this year.
"It's great to see so many exciting events taking place in Northbridge, the home of Western Australia's LGBTQIA+ community. From the spectacular Pride Parade to community gatherings, PrideFEST is truly a city-wide celebration, and we invite everyone to join us," Mr Zempilas said.
In June 2024, the City of Perth committed $1.029M towards PrideFEST 2024 – 2026, as well as sponsorship, the City of Perth staff will be showing their support of the LGBTQIA+ community by taking part in FairDay held for the first time in Supreme Court Gardens on 17 November and joining the parade throughout Northbridge on 23 November.
This month, the City is also proud to launch of our LGBTQIA+ Plan 2025 – 2029, which builds on the success of our first plan from 2021 and reaffirms the City's commitment to celebrating diversity and ensuring Perth remains welcoming and inclusive for everyone.
Pride WA CEO Dr Lauren Butterly said: "This year's PrideFEST theme is Together, Go West – we're celebrating Western Australia's unique and dynamic LGBTQIA+ community. We encourage everyone to come down to Fairday at the beautiful Supreme Court Gardens, to grab a ticket our inaugural PrideFEST Live Concert at Ice Cream Factory (featuring Australian music icons PNAU, Vera Blue, Cub Sport and Montaigne) and to line the streets of Northbridge for the PrideFEST Parade."
Also, to celebrate PrideFEST 2024, the Council House Gallery is featuring Intrinsèque, a new series of works by Christophe Canato, commissioned by the City of Perth to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ communities through photography. The exhibition will also include works by a range of Australian LGBTQIA+ artists.
