Westgate Highway Patrol officers are appealing for public assistance following an alleged road rage incident and collision which occurred in Little River last month.
Investigators have been told a silver Ford transit van was headed west along the Princes Freeway about 9.10pm on 17 October.
It is alleged a dark coloured hatchback started following the van near the Palmers Road overpass.
The hatch attempted to sideswipe the van a number of times before succeeding between Forsyth Road and the Little River exit.
The van spun out of control and crashed into the guard rail while the offending vehicle drove off.
Fortunately the driver of the van was not injured in the incident.
Investigators have released dashcam footage of a vehicle believed to be involved in the incident.
Anyone who witnessed the incident, with further footage or information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
