Genomics is a technology that can transform clinical medicine. It can use information about genes to identify genetic disorders and diagnose rare diseases. It also assists with tailoring treatments, developing prevention strategies and classifying cancerous tumours.
The MRFF's Genomics Health Futures Mission is investing $500.1 million in genomic research to:
- improve testing and diagnosis for many diseases
- help personalise treatment options to better target and improve health outcomes
- reduce unnecessary interventions and health costs.
The Genomics Health Futures Mission Expert Advisory Panel has refreshed the Mission's Roadmap and Implementation Plan to outline its goals and priorities from February 2025.
In developing these documents, the Expert Advisory Panel sought stakeholder input through a national consultation process.
We thank the members of the Expert Advisory Panel for their participation.
