Prisoner and visitor charged over drugs, SA

A prisoner and a visitor were arrested today for drug trafficking offences, according to SA Police.

Detectives from Police Corrections Section arrested a 28-year-old male prisoner from Plympton and a 24-year-old Woodcroft woman and charged them with trafficking in a controlled drug.

It will be alleged the woman visited the man while he was a prisoner at Cadell on 4 March and provided him with 3.5 grams of amphetamine. The drugs were located on the prisoner and seized by the Department for Correctional Services staff at that time.

The arrests were made today outside Mobilong Prison on the prisoner's release.

The woman was bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on 27 April. The man was refused bail.
