Probe Launched Into Bankstown Shooting, Car Fire

Police have commenced an investigation into a public place shooting and car fire in the Bankstown area overnight.

About 1.10am (Monday 3 February 2025) police were called to Haig Avenue, Georges Hall, following reports of shots fired.

Officers attached to Bankstown Police Area Command attended and found multiple shots had been fired into a business.

No injuries were reported.

Police established a crime scene and commenced enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A short time later, police were called to Kawana Street, Bass Hill, following reports of a car fire.

Fire and Rescue Crews attended and extinguished the blaze, but the vehicle was destroyed.

Police established a second crime scene at that location. The vehicle will be forensically examined by specialist police.
