Probe Launched Into Strelley Scrub Fires Near Marble Bar

South Hedland Detectives are seeking public assistance for information as they investigate a series of scrub fires that occurred in Strelley on Tuesday, 22 October 2024.

About 2:30pm, Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) responded to the fires located along a 10 kilometre stretch of Marble Bar Road.

DFES extinguished the fires before they could spread further towards the community and fortunately, no-one was injured or any property damaged.

The cause of the fires is being treated as suspicious, and police urge anyone with any information, or anyone who saw any suspicious people, vehicles, or activity in the area relating to these fires, to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via www.crimestopperswa.com.au

Rewards of up to $25,000 are available for information that leads to the identification and conviction of an arsonist.
