Property Crime Arrests, Goondiwindi And Toowoomba

Queensland Police Service have arrested two teenage boys in relation to recent property crime offences in the Goondwindi and Toowoomba areas.

Goondiwindi police alongside general duties and Tactical Crime Squad attended a Goondiwindi address last night, August 27, where a 15-year-old boy was taken into custody in relation to alleged property offences committed between June 13 and 16 in the Goondiwindi area.

He has been charged with two counts each of attempted enter dwelling with intent and enter dwelling with intent and four counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

Police refused bail and he is expected to appear before Warwick Children's Court today, August 28.

Detectives from Brisbane City Criminal Investigation Branch have arrested a 17-year-old Goondiwindi male in relation to property offences committed between August 11 and 14 in the Toowoomba area.

He was arrested allegedly running from a stolen vehicle in Oxley on August 27.

He has been charged with one count each of armed robbery, attempted armed robbery and stealing and three counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

Police refused bail and he was expected to appear before Brisbane Children's Court today, August 28.

Officer in Charge of Goondiwindi Station Senior Sergeant Richard McIntosh said that extra resources remain deployed to the area to reinforce the police response to property offending.

"The extra boots on the ground have supported our efforts to both investigate and disrupt crime through high-visibility patrols and community engagement," Senior Sergeant McIntosh said.

"I'd like to thank all of the residents, business owners, accommodation providers, service stations, licensed premises and more who have engaged with local police and provided us vital information.

"We will continue to work closely with our partners at NSW Police to co-ordinate tactical action, high-visibility activities and investigative efforts to help hold perpetrators to account, seek justice for victims and keep our communities safe."

Investigations remain ongoing.
