Proposed LEP Change On Exhibition For Comment

Orange Council

A proposed change to Orange's Local Environmental Plan is now on exhibition for community comment.

At the 7 November 2023 meeting, Council considered a Planning Proposal seeking to rezone two parts of 26 Lysterfield Road from RE1 (Public Recreation) to R2 (Low Density Residential) with a minimum lot size of 200m2.

This would enable further subdivision of the rezoned land to ultimately create approximately 9 residential lots.

The proposal relates to a voluntary planning agreement (VPA) that was entered into as part of DA 387/2021(1).

The DA granted approval for 14 residential lots and 3 open space lots, with 2 of the open space lots nominated for further investigation to potentially be rezoned to residential. In exchange the remaining open space lot would be dedicated to Council at no cost.

The VPA was subsequently exhibited and adopted.

Map Amendment 4, now seeks to give effect to the rezoning identified in the VPA and previous DA.

The deadline for public submissions is 5pm Wednesday 31 July.
