Protecting Daceyville: Bayside

Bayside Council has resolved to develop a plan to help protect the historic, aesthetic and social character of the Daceyville Precinct, which is already classified as a Heritage Conservation Area.

This plan will include provision for a shared path through the wetlands corridor between Bonnie Doon and The Lakes golf course, as detailed in Council's adopted Green Grid Corridor Spatial Framework.

Council will also initiate discussions with Sydney Water to secure a new lease for Astrolabe Park to ensure its ongoing use as public open space.

Council will also investigate grant funding opportunities to improve active transport in the area and will actively engage with the residents, stakeholders and experts while developing this plan.

Mayor Bill Saravinovski said:

"It is crucial for Council to take this initiative and continue to improve community well-being by protecting areas like Daceyville that are uniquely significant and important for our community," Mayor Bill Saravinovski said.
