A provisional licence holder has been charged after he was caught allegedly speeding and drink-driving on the state's Mid North Coast.
About 4.45pm yesterday (Wednesday 14 August 2019), officers from Traffic and Highway Patrol Command were conducting speed enforcement duties on the Pacific Highway at Collombatti, about 10km north of Kempsey, when they detected a Mitsubishi Triton utility travelling 151km/h in a 110km/h zone.
Officers stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver, a 24-year-old man, who produced a P2 provisional licence.
The man returned a positive result during a roadside breath test. He was arrested and taken to Kempsey Police Station, where he allegedly returned a reading of 0.151.
The man's licence was immediately suspended, and he was issued a Court Attendance Notice for high-range PCA and exceed speed limit over 45km/h.
He is due to appear before Kempsey Local Court on Wednesday 25 September 2019.
