PSPA declaration at Fernvale

Police have made an emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) due to an ongoing incident at Fernvale.

A large exclusion zone has been established around a service station following a fuel tanker pump bursting, spiling thousands of litres of petrol around 10am.

There is no fire an no one is injured. The fuel will need to evaporate over several hours, closing the Brisbane Valley Highway near the incident.

Diversions are in place via Forest Hill Fernvale Road to Glanmorgan Vale Road.

Members of the public are advised to avoid the area.
