Police have made an emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) due to a large industrial fire burning on Zielke Avenue in Kalkie.
The declaration was made at 4.10pm with boundaries encompassing Sauers Road, Presslers Road, Bargara Road and Gahans Road.
Residents within the exclusion zone have been evacuated and are being urged to follow emergency service instructions.
Nearby residents are urged to keep their windows and doors closed due to large amounts of smoke in the area.
