Police have made an emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) due to an ongoing operation in Mount Sheridan, Cairns.
The PSPA was declared at approximately 1:05am with the exclusion zone including Bulimba Cresent, Adonis Street, and Bunyip Close.
Police were called to an address within the exclusion zone around 12:15am where a threat to public safety was identified resulting in the declaration.
Members of the public are advised to avoid the area and those within the exclusion zone are asked to remain indoors and cooperate with any police instruction.
